Elyssa & David Wedding | Intercontinental Hotel Sydney | Sergeants Mess Chowder Bay

Photography: Cavanagh Photography

Cars: Admire Limousines

Ceremony: Sergeants Mess

Reception: Sergeants Mess

Band: Slide McBride

We had a wonderful day recently with Elyssa and David shooting their wedding day. As usual, we started off with the boys for their preparation shots, at David’s parents place, which was a beautiful old house built at the turn of the century. Then it was off to the girls who were getting ready in a beautiful harbour view room in the Intercontinental Hotel Sydney. They had planned to have the ceremony outside on the lawns of Sergeants Mess, but unfortunately Sydney’s weather wasn’t the best and it was forced inside. Luckily there is room on the veranda of Sergeants Mess for the ceremony to take place. And shortly after the ceremony the reception began at Sergeants Mess.

I’ve never actually shot a wedding at Sergeants Mess before, but it is a really cool modern reception venue. With some wonderful places for some romantic wedding photography. And was really easy to grab Elyssa & David throughout the night and get some really cool shots around the venue.

I was also able to catch up with some old friends who were at the wedding… Elise & Rick. We shot their wedding last year, just up the road from Sergeants Mess, at the Tea Room Gunners Barracks.

ricky davis - Congratulations on the most wonderful photographs. David is our nephew and Elyssa his new bride is a delightful addition to the family. You have without doubt captured the essence of this couple’s love and respect for each other. The relaxed atmosphere created here, coupled with the stunning venues evokes exactly what their wedding day represented.. which of course is paramount.

I love the way that you have used the textures of the surroundings in such a unique application.

What amazing memories you have provided for David and Elyssa and for all the family. Many thanks
