On Boxing Day we are off for a few days to Tasmania, a place we have never been before. We kinda just wanted to get away from Sydney We will be checking our email everyday, but we have heard that there are some parts of Tasmania that don’t have internet or phone coverage.

2011 plans to be an even busier year for us, we have almost fifty weddings already booked and we’ll be doing a fair bit of travel as well. I will also be embarking on a personal photography project that is going to push me to my limits. Below are some of our favorite wedding images from 2010. Enjoy!

Four months pregnant… although you really couldn’t tell. Melissa is the second bride this year who has fallen pregnant just before her wedding. Which is a great! I’ve been joking with Kim that I am like a fertility idol for my brides

We started the wedding day with the boys at Melissa and Campbell’s home before heading over to the girls at Melissa’s parents house. The wedding ceremony was held at St John’s Uniting Church in Wahroonga which is a gorgeous intimate church with some beautiful parklands just across the road from it. From there we went to Mona Vale beach for some photos and then off to Mona Vale Golf Club for the celebration.

Alison & Andy were such a relaxed fun couple who recently got married in and around the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The day started off with the boys and their place in Freshwater where Andy and his groomsmen were getting ready. Then it was off to the girls who were staying at the Sebel Hotel at Manly Beach for the Bridal preparations. They had the wedding ceremony at the always amazing Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Manly. Andy is from London, and I love the little touch of London that they brought with them… check out the cars  After the ceremony we headed off the Freshwater Beach for some photos, which was also where the reception was being held.

We had a wonderful day recently with Elyssa and David shooting their wedding day. As usual, we started off with the boys for their preparation shots, at David’s parents place, which was a beautiful old house built at the turn of the century. Then it was off to the girls who were getting ready in a beautiful harbour view room in the Intercontinental Hotel Sydney. They had planned to have the ceremony outside on the lawns of Sergeants Mess, but unfortunately Sydney’s weather wasn’t the best and it was forced inside. Luckily there is room on the veranda of Sergeants Mess for the ceremony to take place. And shortly after the ceremony the reception began at Sergeants Mess.

I’ve never actually shot a wedding at Sergeants Mess before, but it is a really cool modern reception venue. With some wonderful places for some romantic wedding photography. And was really easy to grab Elyssa & David throughout the night and get some really cool shots around the venue.

I was also able to catch up with some old friends who were at the wedding… Elise & Rick. We shot their wedding last year, just up the road from Sergeants Mess, at the Tea Room Gunners Barracks.

This was one of the wettest weddings I’ve ever done. It just poured… but they do say rain is good luck for a wedding. But the rain didn’t worry Di and Luke at all which was fantastic. They just enjoyed the day. And instead of shooting outdoors we just shot everything indoors.

The day started off with the girls who were getting ready at The Sands Hotel in Narrabeen, which is a funky little boutique hotel in the northern beaches. The ceremony was held at Long Reef Golf Club and was suppose to be outside, so unfortunately they had to move the ceremony indoors. After the ceremony we were waiting for a while to see if there would be a break in the weather so we could take some photos on the beach or the golf course, but it just didn’t stop. So we headed back to the Sands Hotel so the Bridal Party could have a drink and relax, and we could shoot.

After a couple of drinks we headed off to the wedding reception in the city at Zilver Restaurant which is around China Town. But we stopped at a couple of my wet weather locations in the city for some more photos. Then it was off to a fourteen course chinese meal and reception.
