Mannu & Jasmeet Wedding | Sikh Wedding | Indian Wedding Photographer
Tears, laughter, dancing, family, tradition and love are just some of the words I’d use to describe this epic wedding! Mannu & Jasmeet was our first full Indian Sikh wedding and it was one of the wedding highlights of the year for us 🙂
We photographed this wedding over seven days, and captured many wonderful ceremonies and moments with Mannu, Jasmeet, their family and friends. It started with their pre wedding shoot and their engagement party at Conca D’oro and finished with their wedding reception at Curzon Hall. In bewteen we had Mannu’s Sagan during the day followed by his Sangeet in the evening a fantastic night of singing wedding songs, eating and dancing.  The following day it was Jasmeet’s turn with her Chuni and Sangeet in the evening.
Jasmeet’s Chuda was on the Friday in which wedding bangles were placed on her by her aunt. Also both Jasmeet & Mannu had their Batna’s as well which is a cleansing ritual that involves family and friends applying a paste to their face and arms. Some of their friends and family really got into it with the ceremonies getting quite messy but loads of fun 🙂
The day of the wedding ceremony was amazing. We shot Mannu’s preparation while our friend Michal Kriesch shot Jasmeets wedding day preparation.  The wedding ceremony was held at the Sikh Temple in Glenwood, with Mannu’s Baraat (wedding procession) included him arriving on a traditionally dressed horse. Once at the temple the Milni a simple ceremony takes place and both families exchange well wishes on meeting each other took place, followed by breakfast downstairs before the religious ceremony began. Mannu and Jasmeet looked just amazing… very much like a Royal Indian Prince and Princess in my opinion. After the ceremony and lunch we headed into the city for some photos and despite some heavy rain and wind we did manage to get some cool shots around landmarks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. The day was finished of by going back to Jasmeet’s family home for a very emotional farewell before she head off to her new home and new life. A welcome ceremony was then held by Mannu’s family at their new home to end the evening.
The final day was the wedding reception at Curzon Hall, we met up with Manuu, Jasmeet and their family early to get family photos around the grounds before the party began.
We spent the whole seven days shooting with videographer/cinematographer Mark from Moving Presentations and found him fantastic to work with.
We wanted to thank your wonderful sister Guleen who not only helped you plan the wedding, but really helped us throughout the whole experience as well. Both your families were so warm and welcoming to us and we also really wanted to thank them as well. Our first Indian Sikh wedding was a fantastic and rewarding experince , so thank you  Mannu & Jasmeet for letting us be apart your amazing wedding!! And I hope you treasure these photos for years to come.
There are a lot of photos in this post, so sit back… relax… and watch this wedding as it unfolds and please feel free to leave a comment for the bride & groom or us 🙂
