Wedding Photography 2012

2012 has been another incredible year for us. www.chocostudio.com captures a lot of weddings all over Sydney, the Hunter Valley & New South Wales and even did a couple of destination weddings in Fiji and Bali.

Every single wedding we have shot has had so many wonderful, touching, unexpected and funny moments and stories in them. Here are a few moments that come to mind from 2012:

– The Best Man couldn’t be at the wedding, but the Groomsmen arranged for a surprise video message from him to be played during speeches. I think the whole room was in tears.

– Photographing a Father daughter dance. Brides Father has dementia. Brides Mother and Brides Brother holding each other and crying as they watch them dance together.

– Walking through knee deep snow with the Bride & Groom was quite surreal.

– Just as the Bride was about to enter the church… a bird flew above and pooped on her shoulder. But it’s suppose to be good luck! (Yes we did take a photo of it, but decided to keep it private for the couple).

– Taking photos of grandmother, who flew in from overseas, saying goodbye to the couple. Dad thanks me and whispers in my ear that this is the last time they will see each other again.

– Going from 35 degrees and 100% humidity in Bali, to -1 in Thredbo where I couldn’t feel my own fingers.

– Capturing a grandfather playing the clarinet for the B&G. We found out that he passed away seven days later and that the photos of him mean so much to them.

– Watching the Groom & Groomsmen doing ‘Gangnam Style’ dressed in bikini’s.

– A photo of mum who had passed away on the Bridal table looking at the couple.

– While on location, a leech sucked Kims blood, a Huntsman spider crawled up my leg and a huge Bull threatened to attack.

– Photographing the Grooms speech which was in Chinese (which we can’t understand). Amazing moment when the whole room is crying and you can’t understand a word… but it was a touching speech in any language.

– We shot two Cavanagh weddings (although they spelt the surname slightly different).

We also just wanted to thank all our wonderful couples for putting their trust in us to capture their special days. And to wish everyone an awesome 2013!!

Enjoy the photos below… and warning… there are a lot of them
